Constant exposure to water, high humidity, and scorching sun on hot days – the pool environment is particularly demanding when it comes to finishes. However, thermowood is so moisture resistant that it will not swell or rot during use. And UV burn-out only affects the top layer, which can be easily removed by sanding.
The two main problems with artificial beaches are that they are slippery and hot. Our wood is not slippery. And if you choose a board with a corduroy grooved surface, you’ll avoid a lot of nasty falls. Thermowood will not overheat and will not burn your feet when you walk on it. It also has low thermal conductivity – the deck stays warm on cold days.
